One Distant Summer cover reveal & ARC opportunity!

So…I have book news. 🙂

After writing A North So True—my snow-kissed Swedish story—I did a complete turnaround, and have been working on a book that’s all sunshine and heat. I’m excited to let you know that ONE DISTANT SUMMER will be coming in January. If you like summery, heartfelt, sweet-and-sexy stories, this book is for you!

And it already has a lush and lovely cover! Isn’t it gorgeous? I’m in love with this cover…and I hope you’ll fall in love with the story inside.

Although it won’t be published for a while, a limited number of advance review copies will be available for early readers. My newsletter subscribers have already had the first chance to apply, but a few more copies are available.
Read on to find out more about the book, and for your chance to request a free ARC!

One Distant Summer cover

One summer can change everything.

Jacinda Prescott spent one life-changing summer in Sweet Breeze Bay, New Zealand, and left disaster in her wake. Since then, she’s thrown herself into her music career, and her life in LA. But when the price of fame threatens to become more than she’s willing to pay, the distant bay calls her back.

Liam Ward walked away from everything he knew after the death of his talented brother, the guy Jacinda loved and lost. When he finally returns to the bay, looking for closure, she’s the last person he expects to find—and the last woman he should fall for.

Stuck as neighbors for the summer, their off-limits attraction is hotter than the South Pacific sun. But the secret that ties them together is the one thing that could destroy her career, and break their hearts all over again…if they let it.

Let’s make summer last a little longer! 🙂

Wherever, whenever…a writer writes

Writing is like life—you remember where you were when the important things happened.

When Livi Callaway threw caution to the wind for a Parisian kiss, in All Over the Place, I was tucked up under the covers in our smallest ever house—so tiny, you could vacuum the whole place from one power point.

When I realised that Cady (in The Same But Different) was about to get arrested in San Francisco, I was sitting on the bed in our tumbledown rental on the clifftop, where we watched cruise ships coming in and out (and wished we were on board!).

And while A North So True’s Zoe and Jakob were skating on a moonlit Swedish lake, under scattered northern stars, I had a view of summer treetops outside my current bedroom window.

Obviously, I write in/on my bed a lot! Because why wouldn’t you, really? But my old MacBook has seen action in all kinds of other places too—and I thought it would be fun to show you a few of them.

At gymnastics, and waiting for my mum at her physio appointment…

And noisiest of all—at Inflatable World. Industrial-strength fans + super-hyped kids.

If you’re a writer and a mother, no ruckus can come between you and your story!

Now I have a beautiful new computer (cue angels singing), and PLANS—for all the places we’ll go, and all the stories yet to come.

There’s a summery, sexy new series in the works for 2016…watch this space!

A North So True

Love has its own latitude.

Zoe Bailey’s transient childhood left her with a passport full of stamps, an ambiguous accent, and nowhere to call home. And as a grown-up, her career at a relentlessly slick London PR firm has been half-hearted at best—until she travels on assignment to Lillavik as a not-quite-legit wildlife volunteer.

The tiny Swedish village holds a smorgasbord of secrets…and Jakob Westermark. Aloof and wild, like the wolves he studies, Jakob has good reason for keeping his distance. But it’s cold, he’s hot, and the temptation to mix pleasure with business is too strong for Zoe to resist.

Then Jakob’s wolves are threatened, and suspicion turns her way. With more to lose than she ever imagined, Zoe sets out to untangle the hidden threads running through Lillavik…and maybe, finally, find her own true north.

A beach, a badge, and a book

            …an alliterative blog post. 🙂

A beach

It’s the height of summer here. The strawberries have come and gone, but now there are crates of watermelons in the supermarket. The kids are getting tanned, even though I cover them with sunscreen every day. During the day, we squirt them with the hose on the trampoline, and when the cool evening comes, they’re back out there again, bouncing with the mosquitos.

Earlier this month, we loaded up the car and headed north to our favourite holiday spot. It was really nice to swap the scene on the left for the one on the right…I know which back yard I prefer!
