Christmas

New covers and happy holiday reading from Down Under!

I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season, however and whatever you celebrate! As you can see, it’s summer here in New Zealand, so we’re enjoying sunshine, beach time, and lots of great summery food. As always, our Christmas tree is decorated with treasures made by our two boys over the years. You couldn’t really call it elegant…but it’s perfect for us. 🙂

My Christmas present this year was something special—a set of gorgeous new covers for the Near & Far books. They tie in beautifully with the lush and beachy cover for One Distant Summer, which I revealed recently. (If you missed it, check out the cover here!)

To celebrate the new cover reveal, A North So True will be on sale for 99 cents until the end of the year!
This snow-kissed escape, with a twist of mystery, adventure, and Scandinavian wildness, is the perfect holiday read…whether you’re at the beach or snuggled by the fire. And it’s now available for 99c as part of a limited-time special holiday offer! For three days only, you can choose from 75+ free and 99c romances by best-selling Australian and New Zealand authors! With everything from sexy or sweet contemporaries to romantic comedy, historicals, and romantic suspense, you’re sure to discover a book you love.

Christmas Wishes

IMG_5704Where did that year go?!

It’s a summery Christmas Eve here in New Zealand, and once again, we’re ready. Santa has chocolate chip cookies and ginger beer (he’s driving, after all), and there’s a carrot for the reindeer. I always wonder how they decide who gets that single carrot we leave out…but I’m guessing Santa has pretty firm rules about sharing.

The kids are asleep, and soon the grown-ups will be too. And tomorrow, it’ll be presents, food, family, and the beach. Doesn’t get much better than that.

However and wherever you celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful holiday. I hope to have at least two more books for you to read in 2016—it’s going to be a busy year!

Merry Christmas everyone!
Serena 🙂

P.S. It was wonderful to be in contact with so many lovely readers this year. Thank you Suzanne, Linda, Caroline (home at last), Joan, Tamara, Lynn, Lucy at the dentist, Nancy, Phyllis, Melissa, Ashley, Stephanie, Ella and Debbie! Each one of you made my day in 2015. 🙂

When worlds collide at Christmas

Can it really be Christmas Eve already?

IMG_4708I don’t know where 2014 went. Looking back, it’s a blur of kids, emails, housework, homework, play dates, proofreading, Facebook, family…and books of course. The books I published myself, the books I was privileged to edit and proofread for other authors, and all the books I read and loved. (It’s hard to pick a favourite, but if I had to name one, I’d probably say The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion.)

But even though Christmas has come round in the blink of an eye, we’re ready. The presents are all wrapped. As usual, Santa’s snack is laid out for him—strawberries, chocolate chip cookies, and beer this year—and there’s a carrot for the reindeer, or course. We’ve snuggled together to read The Night Before Christmas. And the boys are fast asleep, looking like the little cherubs they are.

However, this Christmas Eve will be busier than usual in our house. Tonight we’re expecting a visit from both Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy. I’d love to be a fly on the wall when those two get together! The stories they could tell…

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, and that 2015 is a year full of stories—the ones you read, and the ones you live and love yourself.

Merry Christmas!
